The Skyroom: A Modern North Carolina Wedding Venue

Modern Editorial Wedding Venue Near Raleigh, North Carolina
If your wedding aesthetic feels modern, elevated, and effortlessly stylish, The Skyroom NC may deserve a spot at the top of your venue tour list.

Located in Chatham County, just outside Pittsboro and within reach of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, The Skyroom combines sleek contemporary architecture with the warmth and hospitality couples love. Situated on 10 scenic acres, the North Carolina venue was thoughtfully designed by father-daughter team Jen and Mark to feel both functional and beautiful, comfortably accommodating celebrations of up to 250 guests. Jen, a veteran wedding planner in Raleigh, NC and founder of Southern Skies Events, used her experience from hundreds of weddings to design a space that meets couples’ needs.
With 26-foot ceilings, expansive windows, indoor-outdoor gathering spaces, and intentional amenities, The Skyroom offers a wedding experience that feels unique, polished, and welcoming.

About The Skyroom
One of the things that stands out most about The Skyroom is how intentional the entire venue feels. It’s clear the space was designed by people who truly understand weddings and how a wedding day actually flows.

The venue blends modern industrial architecture with warm details that keep the space from feeling stark or empty. While the black interior provides a dramatic and refreshing backdrop to every celebration, the floor to ceiling windows let in ample natural light to make the space breathable.
The Skyroom feels dramatic, chic, and elevated from the moment guests arrive. The Skyroom finds the balance between design flexibility and inherent style so that every moment feels elevated and intentional. My favorite unexpected design moment at The Skyroom is the hallway. At most venues, the access hallway is purely functional, with little to no thought given to design. At The Skyroom, the hallways are adorned with dozens of mirrored butterflies that bounce the light and make it feel like a runway.
Whether your wedding vision leans romantic and floral-filled, colorful and contemporary, or sleek and editorial-inspired, The Skyroom adapts beautifully without overpowering your design choices.
The Skyroom Wedding Ceremony & Reception Spaces
The Skyroom is curated in a way that allows the wedding day to unfold naturally from one part of the celebration to the next.
Outdoor ceremonies are typically held in the side garden, facing the wooded backdrop. If you’re planning a fall wedding, you’ll be treated to a gorgeous display of fall colors. Don’t worry if you’re looking for a climate-controlled option, indoor ceremonies take place in front of dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows facing the side garden, so you can experience the same view without the North Carolina heat.

Cocktail hour can spill naturally onto the terrace and outdoor gathering spaces while the reception room transitions for dinner and dancing. The indoor/outdoor bar easily serves clients whether they are sheltering from the elements or enjoying the fresh air.
One of my favorite things about the venue is that it feels equally beautiful during the daytime and at night. The natural light is incredible for daytime ceremonies and portraits, while the space takes on a completely different atmosphere once the lighting, candles, and dance floor come to life during the reception.

What’s Included at The Skyroom
The Skyroom has a lot to offer with the number of amenities already included that couples would otherwise need to rent separately.
Couples have access to:
- Spacious getting-ready suites
- Indoor and outdoor event spaces
- Tables and chairs
- Lounge furniture
- Patio umbrellas
- Seasonal heaters
- Curated decor elements
- Ample on-site parking

The larger getting ready suite, known as The Studio, features LED makeup mirrors, flooded with sunlight, and a private restroom designed to help beauty teams work comfortably throughout the day.
The secondary suite – The Lounge – offers leather seating, lockers for personal belongings, and a relaxed space to unwind before the ceremony begins.
One especially unique feature at The Skyroom is the dedicated childcare space. Licensed North Carolina teachers provide childcare services during the event, so parents can fully enjoy the celebration while being close to their children. This way, the littles can have their own space designed just for them. The venue also includes a private mother’s room complete with refrigeration for milk storage.
Why I Love The Skyroom
As a North Carolina wedding harpist, I’ve had the pleasure of performing at The Skyroom, and it’s a venue that pairs beautifully with live music.
Every time I perform there, I notice how well the space handles sound. Ceremony music feels immersive without overpowering the room, and cocktail hour music carries naturally throughout the terrace and reception spaces while still allowing guests to comfortably mingle.
I also love how personalized weddings can feel at The Skyroom. Because the venue itself is so clean and modern, couples have so much freedom to incorporate meaningful details into the overall atmosphere — especially through music selections. There’s nothing better than strolling through the garden paths being serenaded by live music.
The harp is no easy instrument to transport, and I love that The Skyroom is fully wheelchair accessible. With ample paved parking, wide doorways, and no stairs, this venue is one of the most wheelchair-friendly wedding venues in North Carolina.

How Much Does a Wedding at The Skyroom Cost?
The Skyroom offers pricing that varies based on season and day of the week. As of August 2026, wedding investments begin around $4,500 for select weekdays and increase for peak-season weekends. Most couples can expect to spend a minimum of $8,000 for their venue rental. For the most up-to-date pricing, visit The Skyroom’s website.
Rental pricing includes access to the venue and many of the furnishings and amenities couples would typically need to source separately, which saves you both money and time.
Clients are required to select a caterer from The Skyroom’s approved vendor list and book bar services through their exclusive bar partner, Artful Libations, if they decide to serve alcohol.
For the most current pricing, package information, and availability, I always recommend reaching out to The Skyroom directly.
Does The Skyroom Require a Wedding Planner?
Yes — The Skyroom requires couples to work with a professional wedding planner or coordinator for their event.
While couples are not required to choose someone from the venue’s preferred planner list, outside planners must receive written approval from The Skyroom team to help ensure the best possible experience for clients and guests alike.
The venue also offers optional in-house planning services through Southern Skies Events for couples interested in a more streamlined planning experience.
As a wedding musician, I love working with a planner. I’ve seen first-hand how much better the day flows and how much more relaxed couples are. Whether you select The Skyroom or another North Carolina wedding venue, work with a professional wedding planner to keep your day running smoothly.
